Tonight: Handel’s Messiah in Hither Green.

The power and glory of many voices in monumental harmony!

St Swithun’s Hither Green will be marking Passiontide, the most important period in the Christian year with a glorious and powerful Good Friday performance of Handel’s Messiah.

Date: Friday 3 April

Time: 6.30pm

Location: St Swithun’s Church, 191 Hither Gren Lane SE13

Music Director Philip Bell will conduct the full Hither Green Community Choir,

accompanied by the St Swithun’s Chamber Orchestra to perform the choral masterpiece. The soloists will be joined by guest soprano Hilary Dolomore.

Whether its a chance to hear some majestic music on our door step or to re-capture the meaning of Easter and the promise of the Resurrection after the darkness of Good Friday.

This should be quite an occasion; so get ready to be inspired and moved!
