Meeting Schedule

7- 7.20pm HGCA Committee Elections and Reports.
This is a small and busy group and we need people from across Hither Green with ideas and the drive to carry them through.
You can step forward on the night,  but it’s easier it you can drop a line to with your field of interest.

We do make a effort to ring-fence projects so you only work on projects which interest you! So if you have  an interest in Design, our Environment, Transport, Older people/ children, or Health- you can put your energies into those things alone! .
One example: We need a small team to take the May Festival forward; to deliver the big Food & Craft Fair, and with of fresh ideas for events and activities during the week. We need expert help with opportunities we can offer local sponsors too.

7.20pm- A potted History of Hither Green Lane by Paul Browning.
Paul runs the popular Running Past Blog and our local history walks as part of the May Festival.

7.40pm- Patrick from Hither Green Studios. This massive creative hub stands in the middle of our community… but what do you know about the building or the artists and musicians within? Come along and find out!

8pm- An update on the Hither Green Lane Improvement Projects:
– The Street Trees going in this winter.
– The establishment of – the new HGL Traders Association and the improvement of the shop fronts. A presentation from Laura Luckhurst, Lewisham Central Ward Assembly coordinator.
Do you live near by and have thought on how to improve the shopping experience? There are funds available to help carry projects forward.

8.30pm- News from Ward Councillor Patrick Codd about the Boundary Commission Review and the possibility of a Hither Green Ward and the funding large capital projects with money from NCIL, the community fee levied from developers and local construction work.

There will be time and space to socialise and chat too. Come, join us!
