Fund raising: The evening will raise funds for the Ella Roberta Family Foundation, launched earlier this year to raise much-needed funds for research into severe asthma in children and to provide better facilities for children’s wards in hospitals across south east London.
The Foundation commemorates the life of local school girl Ella Roberta Kissi-Debrah, who was just nine years old when she died suddenly from a severe asthma attack in February 2013.
Mairéad says: “Ella was a friend of my son’s at Holbeach Primary School in Catford and we know just how much Ella loved music and singing. My husband Matthew and I were very keen to contribute in some way to the Ella Roberta Family Foundation – and what better way than to sing and raise money!
“We hope that the concert on the 14th June will be a great event for adults and children alike. We want to keep it short, witty and entertaining and have asked other local professional musician friends to join us. It should be a fun celebration of a short but inspiring life.”
Ella’s Mum, Rossy Kissi-Debrah, adds: “Ella was passionate about music, she had a natural talent for writing, music and dance. Come and join us to listen to some wonderful music!”
